Guardians

Laura Burke is a Brooklyn-based artist whose still lifes and interiors explore memory, symbolism, and emotion. Originally from Oregon, she studied illustration before focusing on painting, developing a distinct practice rooted in personal storytelling.

Working from memory rather than observation, Burke reimagines everyday objects — flowers, ceramics, fabrics — as emotional carriers within vivid, carefully composed scenes. Her use of bold color, flattened perspective, and symbolic arrangement creates works that feel both familiar and quietly surreal.
