Anuk Rocha is a Marseille-based artist who creates magnetic figurative paintings melding acrylic, pastel, and collage. Born in Bosnia and raised in Germany, Rocha initially studied fashion design, working for Maison Martin Margiela and Damir Doma. However, she eventually pursued her true calling as a painter. Rocha has exhibited globally in recent years, with shows in the UK, France, and more planned for 2023. Her textured, expressive works feature silver-eyed figures that represent marginalized perspectives. Through subjects like circus performers and sailors, she explores fringe identities and her own complex Muslim-German-French roots.
